Quick litter pick on way to work

Litter pick by 'coil' art of canal art trail by bridge 3 This is a 'hotbed' for flytipping. I repeatedly report this to Council and CRT. The Council needs to start taking responsibility, even if it is the CRT who is 'in charge' of the canals and rivers of the country. It is Coventry City residents who are being the scumbags and the Council do not deserve to be free of this responsibility! This week I have seen it used as a urinal as well as a general bin. It has been used in the past as a sleeping spot, as a bar, as an underage secret smokers' spot, everything it's not there for basically. I spotted a whole bunch of plastic and card cartons dumped there yesterday with a moorhen pecking around it. I told it to go away as it was nasty and not good and this morning filled an Aldi bag for life...

turns out it was Jack Daniels gift sets - at least 5 or 6 - Jack Daniels you should know better - when are alcohol companies going to realise the poison they sell affects the mental capacity or lack thereof of its drinkers to the point where they lose all self-respect and consequently any consideration for others, whether human or animal, encourage and enable them to litter and harm their environment as much as themselves. Drinks companies have a lot to answer for and need to take a long hard look at themselves! There were also lots of plastic wipes. Yes these are plastic. No they do not biodegrade. They break up into smaller bits. And a sodden nappy :( Not a fun pick but still I hope it deters the next person who sits here from adding to the litter that is now no longer there..

North West London Clean Up
If you're reading this you're probably already aware that there is a serious litter problem and something must be done! As well as solo daily pickings while walking the dogs, I'm also organising various community clean-ups, mostly a monthly one at the Welsh Harp. I have lots of equipment which I'm very happy to lend out, as well as welcoming suggestions for other areas that need a clean-up. Please contact if you wish to get involved.

Tidy Tetbury Team
The Tidy Tetbury Team aims to bring together all those who want to see Tetbury kept tidy and looking good and who are happy to help achieve this by coming out to pick up litter. At the moment, we think that the obvious areas that need tidying up from time to time are likely to be The Rec, the area by the old railway shed, Love Lane (between Tesco and The Chipping) and the path behind Hampton Stores that leads to William Romney's School. But we also think that the Tidy Tetbury Team should be there to help and join in with anyone who wants to tackle the litter problem in their part of Tetbury. Our aim is not only to keep Tetbury tidy but to have fun and make new friends as we do so. Please join us by clicking on the "Join this Group" button on the right of this webpage and we will keep you posted on future events.
