In response to the increased litter levels as lock-down rules start to be lifted, some of you have told us that you are ready to start litter-picking again. We also know that many of you are still not comfortable to litter-pick again yet.  We do not in any way want to make anyone feel as though they should be back out there if they are not ready. However, we DO want to support anyone who is choosing to litter-pick right now.  You can now meet outside in a group of up to 30 people.  Please see the Government guidelines for further details https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

Coventry Canal

To join this group please create an account or login

I am an individual who walks part of the Coventry canal to and from work everyday. I have only been walking along the canal since October 2017 despite being a Coventrian my entire life! It is the city's best kept secret and so peaceful and calm away from crowds and cars. But it makes me angry and sad to see such a beautiful habitat ruined with litter so I started picking litter! I usually pick on my way to/from work in the week but I plan to do more at the weekends and travel further to notoriously messy parts of the canal. If anyone would care to join me to make a difference and tidy up for the animals and all of us to enjoy, please get in touch :) Thank you, Jennysha P.S. There is now a new Canal & River Trust Towpath Taskforce which runs on Thursday mornings - please see CRT website for more info. Give as much or as little time as you can :) Please report any flytipping via: 1) website: fixmystreet.com 2) email: enquiries.westmidlands@canalrivertrust.org.uk

Maidenhead & Windsor Greenstreets
Maidenhead & Windsor Greenstreets is a small but growing group of people from around the Royal Borough who care about our natural surroundings. Sadly, like most areas in Britain, our borough is increasingly blighted by litter - it is a lovely part of the country, and lets try to keep it that way. So dont look the other way, join us today and start to make a difference. Even a few minutes a day can make a big difference. Volunteers are encouraged to pick up a bag a day and litter picking events are organised for areas that need special help!

Bredhurst Woodland Action Group (BWAG)
BWAG was formed by six residents in 2005 to restore and preserve 600 acres of ancient woodland which was being destroyed by fly tipping and the illegal use of off-road vehicles. On our 1st fly tipping clearance day 60 volunteers removed over 100 tonnes of rubbish -including an Abbey National ATM! The group now has nearly 300 members and raised just over £70,000. This has been used to restore footpaths and erect fencing to deter illegal use. The woodland is now litter free and looks cared for. It is being enjoyed by an increasing number of walkers and horse riders and hopefully, over time, wildlife will flourish here once again. For more details visit www.bwag.org.uk
