Litter pick on way to work

Litter pick (solo) on way to work I noticed over the past couple weeks a lot of rubbish has gathered in the reeds running alongside the towpath where ducks and moorhens have been nesting/living - plastic bottles, cans, polystyrene packaging(?!?!!) crisp packets, lots of tiny bits of nondescript plastic, etc. so today my litter pick was dedicated to the water. Among the pick was a ladies handbag, this was so heavy with water I had to leave it along the path to collect tomorrow as it would've weighed me down entirely and I have a mile to walk to the bin/end of the towpath so I made the decision to abandon it in the hope it doesn't get thrown in again. I also found an unopened can of Rubicon Passionfruit! I mean who chucks that?! And quite a few of those orangey/yellowy polystyrene takeaway containers. I filled two Sainsbury's Bags for Life and there is still more to be collected.

I did deviate slightly and picked a couple things from the towpath itself including a whole fish in a sealed packet of plastic (why?) and a loot of lighters - I'm grateful to the person who gathered them there if they had picked them out of the water as they are the tiny things that get stuck in the reeds usually : ( Hoping to plan a Spring Clean with the others in the group or do more solo daily picking rather than great big heavy hauls when I notice there's a lot of litter. Hopefully it will be nice and clean for the duckies and the moorhens soon!.
