We have about 350 members, and about 50 active .This year we have collected 3200 bags of rubbish

The Clean-up Team is part of West Rainton Green Group, which was formed in April 2003. We aim to remove litter from paths, bridleways, road verges and other open space in the vicinity of West Rainton, thereby improving the attractiveness of the local area. The work is undertaken by members of the Green Group in their spare time. We organise about five or six events each year, and members of our team also collect litter on an individual basis from time to time when the need arises. Since the start of the project we have collected 100 - 150 bags a year, and attempt to recycle as much as possible, particularly cans and bottles. Prior to each event contact is made with Durham County Council, who provide a truck to remove all the bags that are collected. We have contributed to national and regional environmental programmes such as Community Service Volunteers 'Action Earth' campaign, City of Sunderland's 'Just Bin It' campaign, Litterfree Durham's 'Big Spring Clean' and the ENCAMS 'Big Tidy Up'. Since 2009 we have worked in partnership with Network Rail to clean up a nearby length of disused railway. As well as litter-picking we also alert Durham County Council and City of Sunderland Council to fly-tipping in the vicinity of the village as soon as it happens. Prompt removal has significantly improved the visual appeal of local lanes and paths. About 300 incidents have been reported since 2003.

Our aim is to keep the roadsides free of litter so everyone can enjoy the Coln Valley.

Recently I have been on a mission to clean up the litter in my local area and I need help from local people. The aim of the group is to tackle litter blackspots in Tonbridge and the surrounding area, especially around local woods, paths, parks and local playgrounds. Litter can be harmful to wildlife, and its not nice to see when walking in the local park with my son. I want to organise local litter picking/clean up days to improve the local environment for everyone. In times when the local councils are cutting funds for street cleaners the litter problem will be sure to get worse, we all have a responsibility to improve our local environment. We are a group of local residents concerned about litter spoiling our environment. Our aim is to keep Alveston looking clean, tidy and litter free resulting in a more pleasant environment for everyone and its wildlife to live in. All over the UK, motorhome owners stop for a few hours and sometimes stay the night in rural carparks and laybys - some call this 'Wild Camping'. In an effort to put something back for our free stays in beautiful places, group members collect up litter in the vicinty of their 'Wild Camp' and dispose of it correctly.

Banbury is a lovely town and its surrounding areas look fabulous. If you're interested in keeping it this way, please join us and help whenever you can, as much as you can. We appreciate time is precious but we are positive there are like-minded people out there who will support keeping banbury tidy.

Erdington Litter Busters was founded in June 2018 by Rob Gunnell. The idea was to start cleaning up Erdington bit by bit, then grow into a community of volunteers who could keep the area clean. Now we have some support, and a growing group of us meet up twice a month on Saturday mornings near Six Ways island, clear different areas, and have a friendly coffee afterwards. The more people that help us, the greater the difference we can make - and people are already seeing the area improving.

Bush Hill Park Residents\' Association organise 2 litter picks a year usually in April and October. We cover an area of about 1/2 a mile or so around BHP Station.

The Neighbourhood Watch scheme aims to develop community cohesion and help people feel safer and more secure in their homes and local environment
