In response to the increased litter levels as lock-down rules start to be lifted, some of you have told us that you are ready to start litter-picking again. We also know that many of you are still not comfortable to litter-pick again yet.  We do not in any way want to make anyone feel as though they should be back out there if they are not ready. However, we DO want to support anyone who is choosing to litter-pick right now.  You can now meet outside in a group of up to 30 people.  Please see the Government guidelines for further details https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

Hilltop Litter Pickers
The Hilltop Litter Pickers aim to keep our attractive rural town clean and litter free, both for residents and for the thousands of visitors to its picturesque Gold Hill every year. The group work closely with both the Dorset Waste Partnership and Shaftesbury Town Council. We have been sponsored by the Shaftesbury Chamber of Commerce and local companies Imprint Graphics and Going Underground. Financial support has also been provided through the Community Matters scheme funded by our local Waitrose supermarket in Gillingham. The team meets at the Tesco recycling site, off Christy's Lane, at 2.30pm on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. New volunteers are always welcome.

Winsford Community Cleanup
We aim to increase social responsibility within the town. We hope that by showing pride in the town it will inspire other people and residents to take ownership of the area in which they live. We are sick of fly tipping and litter and hope to make a positive impact on the town by becoming more action orientated!

Sandbach Clean Team
The group now has over 100 members. It organises monthly litter picks, and members also litter pick in their own local areas.

An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.

We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.

We have a website:- www.sandbach-cleanteam.co.uk

Fishponds Clean Streets
29th February was another wintry Saturday, but minus a storm this time! 4 of us braved it on the streets of Fishponds and between us collected 6 sacks of rubbish and 4 of recyclables. Well done and thanks! Owing to the Government-imposed restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic we are not currently planning any litter picks. However, when restrictions have been lifted we will resume publicising planned events HERE. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THIS WEBPAGE FOR UPDATES. You can e-mail us at: CleanerFishponds@gmail.com. We meet for about an hour and a half approximately monthly, unless the weather prevents us, and pick up litter and recyclables from different parts of Fishponds. We have plenty of litter pickers and a number hi-viz vests. Thanks to Bristol Waste Company who now supply us with waste sacks and others for recycling so you just need to turn up :-) Thinking of getting involved? E-mail: CleanerFishponds@gmail.com for more information. Louise, Pete, Carol & Stuart
