10.00 - 11.30 am. Meet at the Skiddaw Walk entrance to Eastfield Park. Only Vic & Bernard collected litter on this occasion but we did manage to fill another two bags. We also carried out a few other tasks, finishing off work from the 'Spring Clean' on 12th April and in preparation for 'Easter @ Eastfield' on Easter Sunday afternoon. We forgot to post the 'Spring Clean' in advance on this site but that resulted in another 21 bags of litter collected plus an old wheelbarrow, a child's scooter, and a buggy recovered from the Lake. We also added compost to our 'Sunflower garden' in preparation for seeding on Easter Sunday , pruned epicormic growth from the trees in the Bullring and tidied up the 'Manfield steps'..

These groups are near to you in case you want to contact them for advice, to offer them support or, for example, to share equipment with them.
An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.
We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.
