Two sessions: 10.00 am to 12 noon and 2.00 to 4.00 pm. Meet just inside the Skiddaw Walk entrance to Eastfield Park (Northampton). Come and make a difference! Tools and protective gloves provided. The FoEP have organised 'Spring Cleans' in Eastfield Park every year since 2007. This year, because of bad weather, we had to cancel our planned litter pick as part of The Great British Spring Clean so we are tidying up the Park to celebrate ‘Earth Day’ (22nd April) instead! The ‘Spring Clean’ will concentrate on wooded areas and around the Lake - areas often overlooked by contracted litter pickers. Thirty-four people joined in the 2018 'Spring Clean' in Eastfield Park on 21st April: 19 in the morning and 18 in the afternoon (that means three did both sessions). This represents almost 70 hours of community effort.
A BIG 'THANK YOU' TO EVERYBODY INVOLVED! During the morning around 30 bags of litter were collected plus a shopping trolley, car tyre, ornamental table, bicycle wheel & tyres, a garden strimmer, bed headboard and a desk lamp. Most of this came from the Park but some had been fly tipped in the nearby estate. Some of the heavy items were pulled from the lake. During the afternoon about 26 bags of litter were collected plus the remains of a wooden bed frame - all from the Park. .
