Litter pick at 10am, starting from two locations - the steps behind Asda and the Boathouse - and meeting for a drink at the Boathouse at 12 o'clock Many thanks to the 14 people who picked litter with us today. The weather was warm and it was good to finish just before 12 with a cold drink at the Boathouse. The hot weather is bringing out the litter droppers in droves. We collected 30 bags of litter with the jetty and marina opposite the Boathouse being especially bad, as well as some heavier stuff including yet another bicycle and a pushchair. It was good to meet Lynsey Stafford, our new RiverCare officer who is taking over from Fiona, and Babs Wilson who is setting up a RiverCare group down river from us. .

Fylde Litter Action Group (FLAG) is a partnership between Fylde Council departments and various other local organisations, street reps and voluntary groups that are concerned with tackling litter within the Fylde Council area, including the St Annes Beach Care Group, Fairhaven Coastal Care Group and The Friends of the Estuary Coastal Care Group in Lytham. FLAG has been set up with the ultimate aim of preventing dropped litter in the area. The Poppy Litter Group
This group is looking for new people it has been named after my Dog Poppy. To be a member al you have to do is pick up at least one piece of street litter a week. I collect litter near to my house and surrounding area and small conservation area. I have picked up over 900 carrier bags worth of litter in 3 years. I have been on TV and in local press and want a national campaign by the government on tv and in the press. We need to educate all about the pointless littering we see daily. I love to get a celebrity to help promote KEEP BRITAIN TIDY if you know anyone please please help me get in touch About me In 2004 I fractured my spine in three places and suffer daily with server back pain. I was ill health retired and told to take life easy but damned if I will. These people that drop litter make me so angry and I will protect the wildlife that live near me and keep their area FREE of litter and broken glass.

Witham Wombles
We are a voluntary litter picking group in Witham, Essex, who are passionate about keeping our local area tidy and free of litter.
