Thorpe Gate litter pick

18 Aug 2018

23:00

Another of our regular litter picks. Please wear sturdy footwear, equipment is provided. We'll start at 10am with two groups - one from the Asda steps and one from the Boathouse, so please pick whichever is more convenient for you. Finishing about 12.00 at the Boathouse in time for a drink. Many thanks to the 8 people who picked litter today, as well as to our neighbours for telling us about some abandoned tents in the bushes. We picked up two of those tents, both quite new and expensive looking, and an abandoned sleeping bag. Also two intact bicycles (one rideable), two bike frames and an electric 'lawn raker' machine. A better class of litter this time, plus 15 bags of the usual stuff. Our next litter pick will be on Wednesday 12th September at 10am, starting from the Boathouse only. It will be good to welcome Anglian Water employees who are joining us as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme. .

North West London Clean Up
If you're reading this you're probably already aware that there is a serious litter problem and something must be done! As well as solo daily pickings while walking the dogs, I'm also organising various community clean-ups, mostly a monthly one at the Welsh Harp. I have lots of equipment which I'm very happy to lend out, as well as welcoming suggestions for other areas that need a clean-up. Please contact if you wish to get involved.
