The Annual ‘Spring Clean' of the Park took place on Saturday 19th March: 10.00am - 3.00pm. Just over 100 hours of effort were put in by 27 people, ten of whom were from Groundwork Northamptonshire. Other workers included members of Eastfield Residents Association, Lakeview Residents Association, Broadmead Baptist Church and Friends of Eastfield Park. First Aid cover was provided by Victoria Pietersen from Groundwork. The 100 hours of effort includes only work carried out within the Park itself. Groundwork contributed approximately 45% of the total effort within the Park. The main activities on this occasion were litter picking and digging out the overgrown and partly buried rockery to the south-west of the bottom pond. This rockery had been part of the landscaped gardens of Weston Favell House in the first quarter of the 20th Century and the FoEP hope to plant it with suitable flora later in the year.
Well over ten black bags were used to collect litter and general rubbish but some of the bags were only partially filled. The estimated number of full bags was ten. .
