Please visit appleby-lincolnshire.co.uk for details and links. We are joining forces with Winterton this weekend to clear the lane from Appleby to Winterton. Thank you WINTERTON! With your help we have cleared another road - between our two villages (I know, Winterton is a town!). 55 sacks of litter, 10 tyres plus 4 from nearby, 2 big gas cylinders, car bits, road signs, and numerous bottles all lined up for recycling. WELL DONE everyone! UPDATE: Sunday - Ian and I walked Risby Road again and filled 7 sacks, rather better than the 233 the first time we did that road! And Fran, the Mayor of our neighbouring town, did a section of North Street, Winterton and filled 3 sacks! ANOTHER UPDATE: We have started on North Street, Winterton, opposite the Resfuse Centre.

Ugh! It is hard going under the trees, in the hedge and among the brambles! Leys Lane is DONE! Sacks and sacks of litter (12) plus gas cylinders, a tv (thanks to Mr Herring for lifting it into the truck), another car battery, 2 more tyres . . . . Cringlebeck is also DONE! 22 sacks of litter. Thank you NLC workmen for spotting me hard at work (or was it the line of bags along the verge?) and collecting them for me. That saved a huge amont of work!.

Fishponds Clean Streets
Fishponds Clean Streets was established in 2016 and is run by a few volunteers with the aim of helping keep the streets cleaner of litter. There was an extended period owing to COVID restrictions when we were not able to operate, however we are back up and running again now. We usually meet for an hour and a half on a Saturday morning once a month and always publicise our litter picks here on this page, where we also report on our activity after each litter pick. Thanks to those who joined in on Sat 5th Feb and to Rachel for coming along with her family. Between us we collected 7 sacks of rubbish and 6 of recyclables. We hope to meet again in March, so do keep an eye on this page for updates! Sanctuary Shaftesbury Reading
This estate clean up was organised by Matt Evans, Housing Officer of the area, and involved staff from the local Office, and contractors. The clean up involved clearing communal areas inside the flats, garages and the outside area. Going forward, it is hoped that a Residents Association will be formed, that will carry out litter picks and maybe start up a weekly gardening club.

Diamond (Ridge) Geezers
As our contribution to the Duke of Edinburgh’s scheme volunteering requirement, and as local residents (who dog walk, run and cycle across the heathlands), we are collecting litter for the next 12 weeks and will carry on after that to clean up the woodlands and heaths surrounding camberley.
