Risby Road clean up! A beautiful day today, time to attack the whole of Risby Road! We collected a tv, a tyre and just 9 sacks of mainly 'fast food' litter. A bit different to the first time we did that 3 mile stretch - it took a whole weekend and we filled over 100 sacks! We have performed several 'walk ups' throughout the summer, tackling different sections on alternating weekends, and feel the effort has been well worth it!.

Tonbridge Litter Pickers
Recently I have been on a mission to clean up the litter in my local area and I need help from local people. The aim of the group is to tackle litter blackspots in Tonbridge and the surrounding area, especially around local woods, paths, parks and local playgrounds. Litter can be harmful to wildlife, and its not nice to see when walking in the local park with my son. I want to organise local litter picking/clean up days to improve the local environment for everyone. In times when the local councils are cutting funds for street cleaners the litter problem will be sure to get worse, we all have a responsibility to improve our local environment. Penarth Beach Wardens
The Beach Wardens at Penarth are all unpaid volunteers who give up some of their free time to help keep Penarth beach free of litter. The group are independent of both the local town council and the county council but all Wardens are members of the Penarth Civic Society, which covers the general administration for the group, negotiates licences and other working relationships with beach owners and local authorities, and pays the necessary insurance premiums.

Tidy Tetbury Team
The Tidy Tetbury Team aims to bring together all those who want to see Tetbury kept tidy and looking good and who are happy to help achieve this by coming out to pick up litter. At the moment, we think that the obvious areas that need tidying up from time to time are likely to be The Rec, the area by the old railway shed, Love Lane (between Tesco and The Chipping) and the path behind Hampton Stores that leads to William Romney's School. But we also think that the Tidy Tetbury Team should be there to help and join in with anyone who wants to tackle the litter problem in their part of Tetbury. Our aim is not only to keep Tetbury tidy but to have fun and make new friends as we do so. Friends of Charlton Brook
FRIENDS OF CHARLTON BROOK are an environmental group consisting of local people who aim to restore Charlton Brook and the dam to it's former glory. New members are always welcome and encouraged to take part in litter picks and fund raising events. Local folk will know the area very well as a pleasant walk between the Barrel Inn and the Bridge Inn. FOCB are currently working with Sheffield City Council Parks and Countryside and Environmental Planning, Wildlife trust and other local groups. Public green spaces improve the look of an area for everybody, they increase bio-diversity and counteract the effects of global warming. Sadly Charlton Brook needs care and attention, which has been lacking for many years. Our Aims De-Silting of the dam and stream. Improved Fishing Facilities. Better footpaths and lighting and to include disabled access. New seating, litter and dog bins. Regular refuse clearance. Improvement of BMX track and installation of robust playground. Woodland management to increase diversity of the wildlife habitat.
