The Friends of Eastfield Park (FoEP) are supporting the ‘Great British September Clean’ but, because of Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to organise a full-scale community clean-up. Instead, we encourage individuals, pairs, or family groups to carry out their own litter-picks in the Park on 18th, 19th or 20th September. If you collect on one of these three days you may leave your sacks of litter piled up at the Skiddaw Walk entrance to the Park; if you collect on a different day, you will need to make your own arrangements for disposing of the collected litter. These groups are near to you in case you want to contact them for advice, to offer them support or, for example, to share equipment with them.
An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.
We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.
