Eastfield Park Autumn Tidy-up 2015

17 Debdale Road ,Northampton,NN3 2TR

02 Oct 2015

23:00

Autumn Tidy-up in Eastfield Park: Saturday 3th October 2015 - Morning Session: 10.00 am - 12.30 pm; Afternoon Session: 1.00 pm - 3.30 pm. As usual we are looking for volunteers to help! Come for the morning session, the afternoon session, or bring a picnic and stay for both - it’s up to you! This year we are concentrating on a 'DEEP CLEAN OF THE PARK' (General litter picking and removal of larger rubbish) Come and Make a Difference! Tools and protective gloves provided. Free refreshments available. NB! We are not providing a cooked lunch this time but there will be tea and coffee so why not bring sandwiches and stay for both sessions? Despite only nine volunteers helping out during the day we put in around 40 hours of effort and collected 16 bags of litter plus other items including a reclining seat that had been dumped in the Park.

We also trimmed back a hedge that was growing over a grass verge that has daffodils in spring and planted a few more plants on the Crescent Rock Garden..

Tetford Volunteer Group
Our first litter pick took place in November 2016. People stopped their cars & asked how to get involved, more have joined since. We live in a beautiful area & want to get rid of the litter which spoils the countryside. 6 Local businesses & 2 village residents have sponsored us & we now all have our own equipment (not borrowed from the District Council) Our hi-vis vests have a litter picking logo on the back & the Sponsor's name on the front. Our Parish Council support us by insuring us and a local garage has offered assistance.

The Friends of Mile End Park
We litter pick Mile End Park, Tower Hamlets on the second Sunday of every month. We meet at 10am by the Art Pavilion which is by Clinton Road and just off Grove Road. We generally do a couple of hours. We can\'t do the whole park in two hours so we generally head north one month and south the next. Litter pickers, gloves, plastic litter bags, and hoops for the bags are supplied. We collapse in a heap at the end in The Coffee Room afterwards and reward ourselves with cake and coffee, and a good old chit chat.

Friends of Charlton Brook
FRIENDS OF CHARLTON BROOK are an environmental group consisting of local people who aim to restore Charlton Brook and the dam to it's former glory. New members are always welcome and encouraged to take part in litter picks and fund raising events. Local folk will know the area very well as a pleasant walk between the Barrel Inn and the Bridge Inn. FOCB are currently working with Sheffield City Council Parks and Countryside and Environmental Planning, Wildlife trust and other local groups. Public green spaces improve the look of an area for everybody, they increase bio-diversity and counteract the effects of global warming. Sadly Charlton Brook needs care and attention, which has been lacking for many years. Our Aims De-Silting of the dam and stream. Improved Fishing Facilities. Better footpaths and lighting and to include disabled access. New seating, litter and dog bins. Regular refuse clearance. Improvement of BMX track and installation of robust playground. Woodland management to increase diversity of the wildlife habitat.
