An ongoing big clean up of the areas we don't clean on a regular basis. March 10 - Ermine Street south today, as far as the Brigg turn off, resulted in 24 sacks, 3 treys, drums and car bumpers and parts. March 16/17 - Brigg Road past Appleby Woods today, another 9 sacks filled and we collected some tyres from the verge there. Interestingly, although it was quite heavily littered it wasn't anywhere near as bad as when we did it the first time last year by any means. On Sunday 17th we made a start on the short stretch from Broughton up to the hotel. It was disgusting! Although we didn't finish the lane due to the rain we still filled 10 sacks! April 18th - A Litter Pick for George :) April 20th - A march across Risby Warren resulted in 2 sacks of wind blown litter (from the nearby landfill site maybe?)..

Keeping Rothwell Clean & Green

We are a volunteer group of local residents tackling litter pollution and fly-tipping in the Stretford, Longford and Gorse Hill ward areas of Trafford through community-led action. Our mission is to make our neighbourhood a safer, cleaner and greener place for wildlife and residents to live and enjoy. Instead, individuals are issued with equipment to litterpick an area of Lady Bay of their choice, usually the streets immediately around their home and at times convenient to them.
