Uckfield Carnival, 3 September 2011 The High Street on the morning of 4 September was an horrendous sight. Bottles, cans and fast food containers all over the place. 4 BUC volunteers spent two-and-a-half hours clearing the High Street and collected 24 bags of rubbish, including a black sack half-filled with cooked sausages and burgers. The Campaign has written to Carnival organisers to try to find a better way to deal with this sort of thing next year. It seems the District Council does not want to know about responding to a carnival event when it comes to litter..
