Oldbury Fun Run

Thornbury,BS35 1PW

20 Jun 2009

23:00

We will be helping the Fun Run team to collect the discarded water cups from the course after the event on Sunday June 21st. We plan to walk the course at the rear of the field, armed with litter-pickers and bin-bags. If you would like to join us, please e-mail me as we will be wearing our new Oldbury Clean Team tabards and I will make sure that I’ve got one for you. Thanks. George - george.monck@cleanupuk.org.uk A small group of us “brought up the rear” at this year’s Fun Run. We collected 3 black sacks of litter around the course and we hope that we relieved the water station marshals of extra work. We were particularly pleased that we were also able to clean up around the finish line at The Ship – this area was badly littered. We have received a nice letter of thanks from Keith Sullivan - you can see it on the bottom right of the Oldbury Clean Team webpage..

Forres Community Clean Up
I have set up this group as I have been cleaning the burn near the Mosset Tavern since early 2011. The river fills up with plastic, glass and an assortment of garbage on a regular occasion. I am barely making any in roads into keeping the river clean and so I thought it would be great to have other community member join in to help. Together we can make the river a great place for the enjoyment of the community. In 2016, we merged our group with Forres Community Clean Up, a local group that cleans the streets and public places in Forres. Joe Pirnie is the co-ordinator of this group
