Truckers cleaning up Britian

A few* stalwart volunteers meet once a month to TIDY UP the neighbourhood, much to the delight of some residents & Lewes District Council! *Now in our 15th year, we have welcomed more recruits, taking our total to 38.

I have set up this group as I have been cleaning the burn near the Mosset Tavern since early 2011. The river fills up with plastic, glass and an assortment of garbage on a regular occasion. I am barely making any in roads into keeping the river clean and so I thought it would be great to have other community member join in to help. Together we can make the river a great place for the enjoyment of the community. In 2016, we merged our group with Forres Community Clean Up, a local group that cleans the streets and public places in Forres. Joe Pirnie is the co-ordinator of this group

We are the Brewood Civic Society and as part of the Best Kept Village competition and our villages benefit, we organise a rota for picking litter in the village and along the canal tow path. BCS members go out every day in the spring and summer to litter pick.

Rubbish Friends organises litter picking sessions around Stratford upon Avon and surrounding areas so that the environment is improved for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. Rubbish Friends also promotes the benefits of this work to raise public awareness of the issues related to litter and its impact.

A group of friendly, knowledgable volunteers who work under the guidance of The Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. Restoration, Education and Conservation of a local stretch of The Cromford Canal around Ironville and Jacksdale in an area of important industrial heritage with an emphasis on the protection of wildlife.

Voluntary Group. Tidy ↻p St Leonard's ! Holds events to tidy up and improve the streets, paths and woodlands of St Leonard's, East Sussex. Work with local and county councils, report issues requiring attention such as fly tipping, defective infrastructure and waste requiring collection. Liaise with local businesses, schools and organisations. Engage with them and raise awareness of the litter problems in St Leonard's. We are a non political group.

Keep Forebridge Tidy is a group made up of likeminded individuals within the Forebridge Ward of Stafford who want to keep the area tidy. The scheme works by each volunteer taking ownership of their street, selection of streets or part of their street and keeping it free from litter by conducting regular litter picks. No formal litter picks are arranged allowing volunteers to litter pick as and when they can.

To safeguard the environment of Stokes Bay and preserve and protect the flora and fauna within the area as well as providing practical assistance in maintaining a clean and safe environment in the area.

We co-ordinate activities for the CPRE litter campaign Stop the Drop in County Durham and Darlington. These include acting as a central focus to which reports of litter grot spots may be made; making regular personal contact with Local Authorities, Parish Councils and tourism organisations; organising litter picks throughout the county; spreading publicity for the Campaign; and taking a programme of litter-awareness education into local schools. The Parish Pickers started as 3 small bands of willing volunteers in in the St Stephen Parish near St Albans and by combining forces and with better advertising through posters and social media we have grown to a 50 strong group of mostly fantastic \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Lone Rangers\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'. We currently do several litterpicks in throughout the year plus we support as many major events as possible including The Great British Spring Clean / World Rivers Day / Love Parks Week
