We are a group of residents in Hathershaw Oldham Lancashire and are passionate and dedicated to keeping our area and community clean and tidy with help from local authorities. I hope other communities will pluck up the courage and get out there to help your local area and community. We aim to organize new events and litter picks in the future. We try and strive to make a more pleasant area to live in and for visitors of the community to say "wow!" A resident clean up session will be on Sunday 30th June around the Hathershaw area. Our aim and promise is to free up the streets,alleyways and grass and park area's so people can have pride in their community and also respect what other people do for the borough. Quote: Someone asked me the other day and said your mad for picking up litter week in week out, so I said I ain't mad I'm happy to pick other people's mess it's a challenge for me, I get annoyed because people and kid's need educating but it's the attitudes I hate, well I cant be bothered and there's not enough bins ....so do something about it and buy some bins or ask your local council, truth is you could have ten litter bins in a line on a road but someone will drop it on the floor...ah well, me I will carry on regard less with my group until other people realise that we need to keep our streets, alleyways and parks clean...I rest my case your honour. Keeping the 2 Dales of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale free from litter for the enjoyment of our local community and many visitors to our area of outstanding natural beauty in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

We try to be positive about our work We litter pick as a group every Sunday, we also support lots of lone Pickers that go out during the week to litter pick . We tackle grot spots and support new litter picking groups in other areas of bolton

We have 26 active litter pickers each one of whom takes responsibility for a stretch of road or an area of green space. We meet occasionally to review tactics and to swop ideas. We have a massive litter pick once a year to shift an area of accumulated rubbish. We have good relations with the Parish Council and the local authority who are great at clearing flytipping when we inform them.

Fishponds Clean Streets was established in 2016 and is run by a few volunteers with the aim of helping keep the streets cleaner of litter. There was an extended period owing to COVID restrictions when we were not able to operate, however we are back up and running again now. We usually meet for an hour and a half on a Saturday morning once a month and always publicise our litter picks here on this page, where we also report on our activity after each litter pick. Thanks to those who joined in on Sat 5th Feb and to Rachel for coming along with her family. Between us we collected 7 sacks of rubbish and 6 of recyclables. We hope to meet again in March, so do keep an eye on this page for updates! I litter pick around Ventnor where needed once a month. Details of venue are usually in the South Wight Chronicle if any one wishes to join me. I have one or two regular volunteers, together with my dog Pistache.

Primrose Parks Alliance is a community group with a shared purpose. We would like to make our parks and green space an environment we are all proud to enjoy. The group is formed from the amalgamation of Friends of Valley View and Springwell Park and Keep Mill Dene Clean community groups. Aims: Keep the area clean and litter free by organising litter pick events. Progress local maintenance issues with the correct agencies, authorities, environmental and charity groups. Identify partners, resource support and funding opportunities and work together to engage, educate, inspire and to close any gaps where the appropriate agencies cannot fully support. Take a long-term view of the area and eventually expand activity to include the development of infrastructure, events and public engagement in the Primrose green spaces.
