We are part of Transition Keynsham and have a network of over 100 local volunteers collecting litter on a weekly basis in an area of their choice which could be the road they live in, a local footpath etc. If you would like to join us please email womble@transitionkeynsham.org

I started litter picking as I was annoyed by the litter in the hedges outside Roys supermarket and it snowballed from there. I regularly litter pick around the village and also other areas whilst out and about. I am doing this for the wildlife and the environment.

Whitehead Wombles are a small group of people from the town of Whitehead who got fed up looking at the amount of litter on our streets and hedgerows and decided to do something about it. We only have a few members but we are committed to keeping the level of litter in the town to a minimum and hope that people will see us and think twice about dropping their litter. We are supplied with bags, gloves and pickers by our local council and last Oct we won an award for our coastal care work. Our aim is to educate people in the detrimental effects of littering and to work with as many groups within the town to co ordinate our efforts. We had a community clean up on Sunday 18th Sept 2011as part of the national Beach watch Weekend and received support of local groups and churches so for one day at least we had a litter free town. We lifted over 30 bags and had forty people of all ages turn out to help. This proved so successful that many of those involved wanted to run it on a quarterly basis so we'll see what we can do If anyone wants to set up a group and needs advice then contact us or follow our progress at the Brighter Whitehead site.

A growing band of volunteers dedicated to keeping Uckfield and surrounding areas clean, green and litter free. We meet every Sunday at 9am in Waitrose car park, and others perform ad hoc litter picking around our town.

We hold a weekly Green Gym session where we litter pick and do low key enhancements to the nature area. Litter and fly tipping has been a major problem over the years but since we started the group over 6 years ago the site is a lot cleaner. Other users tend to pick as they go too.

Facebook group for residents in the Woodston and Fletton areas of Peterborough to take part in community litter picking events. Also the place for other groups in the area to advertise,much as Sugar Way residents and Thoroe Gate Rivercare group.

The Tidy Tetbury Team aims to bring together all those who want to see Tetbury kept tidy and looking good and who are happy to help achieve this by coming out to pick up litter. At the moment, we think that the obvious areas that need tidying up from time to time are likely to be The Rec, the area by the old railway shed, Love Lane (between Tesco and The Chipping) and the path behind Hampton Stores that leads to William Romney's School. But we also think that the Tidy Tetbury Team should be there to help and join in with anyone who wants to tackle the litter problem in their part of Tetbury. Our aim is not only to keep Tetbury tidy but to have fun and make new friends as we do so. We are a community-led litter picking group doing as many litter picks as we can to clean up Salford and to try educate people on how to report litter/fly tipping issues.

Clean up grot spots; litter clearances; create and maintain planters, hanging baskets and flower beds in public areas; work with local council (e.g. they remove the bags of rubbish we collect);environment education to schools and general public;work with local businesses, retail outlets etc to encourage their participation;raise funds to support our work; work with other community groups to encourage paticipation; recruitment and publicity via a number of media outlets.
