Killamarsh village and surrounding areas

We are a dedicated group aiming to get The Haywoods litter free and dog faeces free.

The original Fylde Coast beach care group, we look after the shingle beach between the Five Bar Gate and The Venue at Cleveleys. Our core activities are a four weekly community beach clean and a monthly meeting - and throughout the year we do lots of other things to help to improve this beautiful stretch of coast for the people who use it and the wildlife which lives here. Oh, and we have a lot of fun and make a lot of friends - the community which we create is every bit as important as the litter which we pick up! Parish Council event

We carry out and organise monthly beach clean-ups on Crosby and Waterloo beaches. We also try to raise awareness of plastic pollution and what it does to wildlife and our environment.

Starting with the waterways around the local schools, we aim to bring Warwick back to its former glory, allowing the wildlife to thrive once again and removing the rubbish near neighborhoods.

Clean up grot spots; litter clearances; create and maintain planters, hanging baskets and flower beds in public areas; work with local council (e.g. they remove the bags of rubbish we collect);environment education to schools and general public;work with local businesses, retail outlets etc to encourage their participation;raise funds to support our work; work with other community groups to encourage paticipation; recruitment and publicity via a number of media outlets.

We are a group of dog walkers who regularly walk Weymouth Beach and notice litter being left behind by beach users. On 6th November we collected over 10 bags of litter left from Guy Fawkes night.

I am the sole member of this group so far and would like to recruit other like-minded, local litter-killers. I've armed myself with a litter-picker-upper stick, bought online for a tenner, and I use recycled, plastic, supermarket bags for the collections. I walk around my village on litter-spotting missions every now and then with my fiance and our baby daughter. Good exercise and the lanes look much nicer. 'Hotspots' for litter are the bus shelter and the playing fields. Great feeling of satisfaction too. My aim is to keep our beautiful village 100% litter-free.
