Moseley Litter Busters

Huntsham is a tiny village in mid Devon. For the last four years, Huntsham Society members and our local community (farmers and all) have joined forces twice a year to clean up all the many the lanes for a distance of 2-3 miles from the village; once in April before the verges are hidden in new growth, and once in October when the vegetation has died down and the litter can be seen. This April we had a turnout of over 100 helpers, including many children. We have recently combined our efforts with Mid Devon County Councils campaign to help keep Devon clean and green, also twice a year. It would be fantastic if neighbouring parishes could take up the challenge of keeping the lanes clear of litter.

We are part of the Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath Village Action initiative. We aim to co-ordinate the efforts of local people in promoting awareness of the problem of litter; improving attitudes; and taking part in monthly organised litter picking, with the aim of keeping our villages pleasant and pretty. We know that many residents look after the roadsides and paths adjacent to their own homes and wish to encourage this. Some of our members carry chalk to mark dog fouling on pavements, to help people avoid stepping in it and to tell irresponsible dog owners that they should be clearing up after their pet. Litter picking can be very rewarding, and is an opportunity to get out and make new contacts in the village. Please get in touch if you can help in any way, however small. Please email us if there is any particular area in the village over which you have concerns about litter. In 2012 Nisa - Village Roots in Woodend Road gave us some funds and we have bought some hi-viz vests with 'Volunteer - Village Action Litter Busters' printed on them. Join our volunteer warden scheme, organising action within Worcestershire. We offer practical help and advice to volunteer wardens, who meet on a regular basis to exchange information and ideas on how to improve their neighbourhoods. Each litter warden is provided with a litter picker, gloves and refuse sacks. We encourage wardens to recycle the waste they collect; we also offer to dispose of any waste collected.

We are a friendly group of residents based in Lillington, Leamington Spa. Currently we meet once a month to litter pick and monitor our target areas. We also report, monitor and record fly-tips in our target area. We work with the local authorities to look at fly-tip and litter prevention strategies.

We Generally pick Monday’s 10:00am, meet Station car park. We extend a warm welcome to new volunteers. We can provide all the litter picking equipment, insurance and training. If you can't attend one of our regular weekly picks but would like to collect litter in your own time using our insurance / support, this is the perfectly fine. Every little bit of help counts! We are pleased to partner with Ansa Services and The Alderley Edge Parish Council.

myself and a couple of like minded individuals have been litter picking our local parks, back lanes and mountains for as long as we can remember. the amount of rubbish we are finding is getting worse and worse so we are aiming to do as much as we possibly can so that we can get our parks, lanes and country sides back to how they should be... litter free! our aim is to show people that it's super fun, cool and easy to make that little bit of difference to the environment, hopeing that they will join in on our quest to keep the earth clean.
