Currently most of the work is done by my Border Collie who collects crisp and other wrappers and plastic bottles. She then finds the nearest waste bin and puts the litter in it. She has been doing this for the past 5 years.

I've decided to try and get local folk interested in keeping our area clean...hoping people will respond.

As Westminster’s Children’s University we are continually seeking new partners and sponsors to assist in providing quality extracurricular opportunities for the often underprivileged youth of Westminster. We believe in the limitless potential in every child and Seek to open avenues in all fields of experience in order to engage and inspire our cohort. We are a two form entry Primary (state) school currently developing as a centre of excellence in well being and youth mental health. As such we are a completely non profit organisation and rely on the sharing of and engagement in our vision to motivate likeminded professionals to assist and join in our mission to improve the experiences and aspirations of our vulnerable youths. We too provide free consultancy, CPD and CBT/mentoring services in return, in order to create mutually rewarding partnership and more importantly, to spread good practice wherever desired. We are currently using our Eco club and wardens projects to engage our students with their own thoughts,feelings and in being mindful through gardening,planting and creating green spaces our Volunteer Litter picks help children consider their place within our wider community and human's relationship and interdependence with the world and the environment.

Our groups main aim is to improve the local environment so that it looks cleaner and more presentable as the litter in the area is spoiling the look of where we live and work. We would like to bring together the working community of the business park in order to clean things up a bit by keeping the area litter free. We feel that this would be a great opportunity to meet some of our neighbours, get some gentle exercise and achieve something really valuable at the same time.

Tidy Tavi volunteers meet on the first Saturday each month to pick up litter from the streets and public spaces of the lovely town of Tavistock in Devon. We have been operating since October 2012 and attendance varies from about 18-30 local residents. We do not operate any sort of membership scheme or register. Volunteers simply come along when they can spare some time. This is important because we do not want anyone to feel committed to join in every month, or even for the full 2 hours. We work from 10 AM to midday and frequently fill 30-40 sacks of rubbish that are disposed of by West Devon District Council. Litter pickers, high visibility jackets, rubbish bags and hoops are provided. The group is supported by many local businesses including Tesco, who send some of their staff to help, and the Meadowlands Leisure Centre, where the group meets, who store our equipment for us. Several cafés in Tavistock supply free teas and coffees to volunteers. Critical support is also provided by our local newspaper, the Tavistock Times Gazette, who publish reports and print recruiting posters for the group.

We aim to clean up and maintain an urban nature reserve and ancient woodland right in the heart of a built up industrial area. Saltwells Woods and nature reserve is well used and well loved, and was recently saved from having a housing estate built on it, but sadly also neglected. With a renewed vigour now the woods are saved, we vow to make the area as CLEAN & GREEN as we possibly can.

We aim to clear litter from most streets and out to the parish boundaries twice a year.

Hi, I'm Holly and I'm starting out litter picking to help make the area I live in cleaner and more attractive. I walk to work some days and I always marvel at how much rubbish there is, especially after bin collection days and it stays on the streets for weeks, so I wanted to do something about it! Alone but hopefully not for long, I have started picking litter in my area to make it a cleaner and more enjoyable place for everyone. I hope as I get more experience at this I can rally together the troops to start a regular litter picking group to help out and clean up Sopwell! Fylde Litter Action Group (FLAG) is a partnership between Fylde Council departments and various other local organisations, street reps and voluntary groups that are concerned with tackling litter within the Fylde Council area, including the St Annes Beach Care Group, Fairhaven Coastal Care Group and The Friends of the Estuary Coastal Care Group in Lytham. FLAG has been set up with the ultimate aim of preventing dropped litter in the area. FLAG is also involved with educating on litter related issues by providing advice, information practical assistance and enforcement where needed. FLAG = WORKING TOGETHER FOR A CLEANER GREENER FYLDE!
