Levenshulme Litter Obliteraters

We are a group of like minded volunteers who clear litter within the Tiptree village and surrounding lanes and woodlands on a regular basis.

We are a dedicated group aiming to get The Haywoods litter free and dog faeces free.

We are dog walkers and pick up on our walks in and around Crowborough, the Asdown Forest and wherever we caravan.

Feel free to join me in picking up litter from time to time. Cleaning up the countryside one bag at a time.

Fishponds Clean Streets was established in 2016 and is run by a few volunteers with the aim of helping keep the streets cleaner of litter. There was an extended period owing to COVID restrictions when we were not able to operate, however we are back up and running again now. We usually meet for an hour and a half on a Saturday morning once a month and always publicise our litter picks here on this page, where we also report on our activity after each litter pick. Thanks to those who joined in on Sat 5th Feb and to Rachel for coming along with her family. Between us we collected 7 sacks of rubbish and 6 of recyclables. We hope to meet again in March, so do keep an eye on this page for updates! Our aim is to clear the roadsides of litter and keep our villages looking spick and span.

Voluntary Group. Tidy ↻p St Leonard's ! Holds events to tidy up and improve the streets, paths and woodlands of St Leonard's, East Sussex. Work with local and county councils, report issues requiring attention such as fly tipping, defective infrastructure and waste requiring collection. Liaise with local businesses, schools and organisations. Engage with them and raise awareness of the litter problems in St Leonard's. We are a non political group.

We meet on a Sunday morning, every other month, to walk around the whole village to clean up. There are over 20 volunteer names on our list!

Friends of Riverside Park was set up following a failed attempt to build a water park on the land which is owned by East Sussex County Council & Lewes District Council and now known as Riverside Park, Newhaven. The site was up until the late 1970s/early 1980s a landfill site for the town. Once the site was full to capacity it was capped and left to nature. We now have a wonderful array of wildlife and recently funds were spent by the local Councils to make improvements including a properly laid circular path, benches dotted around the park, a bird viewing platform, owl nest box and various hibernacula and scrapes. Scrub has been managed to improve the quality of the soil. All this has been done with the help and assistance of the Friends of Riverside Park who work as a go-between the Community who use the Park and the Councils. As part of our ongoing support we organise monthly litter picks to safeguard the natural environment & are making other small improvements to the area including more litter bins and hopefully seating.

As our contribution to the Duke of Edinburgh’s scheme volunteering requirement, and as local residents (who dog walk, run and cycle across the heathlands), we are collecting litter for the next 12 weeks and will carry on after that to clean up the woodlands and heaths surrounding camberley. We will focus on barossa and diamond ridge hence the name of the group being Diamond Geezers.
