Keeping area around Ashtead station clean

I am an individual who walks part of the Coventry canal to and from work everyday. I have only been walking along the canal since October 2017 despite being a Coventrian my entire life! It is the city's best kept secret and so peaceful and calm away from crowds and cars. But it makes me angry and sad to see such a beautiful habitat ruined with litter so I started picking litter! I usually pick on my way to/from work in the week but I plan to do more at the weekends and travel further to notoriously messy parts of the canal. If anyone would care to join me to make a difference and tidy up for the animals and all of us to enjoy, please get in touch :) Thank you, Jennysha P.S. Greater Brislington Together … is a small but official organisation, formed to help Brislington community groups and volunteers obtain funding and work together to help the area flourish.

FRIENDS OF CHARLTON BROOK are an environmental group consisting of local people who aim to restore Charlton Brook and the dam to it's former glory. New members are always welcome and encouraged to take part in litter picks and fund raising events. Local folk will know the area very well as a pleasant walk between the Barrel Inn and the Bridge Inn. FOCB are currently working with Sheffield City Council Parks and Countryside and Environmental Planning, Wildlife trust and other local groups. Public green spaces improve the look of an area for everybody, they increase bio-diversity and counteract the effects of global warming. Sadly Charlton Brook needs care and attention, which has been lacking for many years. Our Aims De-Silting of the dam and stream. Improved Fishing Facilities. Better footpaths and lighting and to include disabled access. New seating, litter and dog bins. Regular refuse clearance. Improvement of BMX track and installation of robust playground. Woodland management to increase diversity of the wildlife habitat.

Banbury is a lovely town and its surrounding areas look fabulous. If you're interested in keeping it this way, please join us and help whenever you can, as much as you can. We appreciate time is precious but we are positive there are like-minded people out there who will support keeping banbury tidy.

Make Brisbane Road an even better lace to live

All over the UK, motorhome owners stop for a few hours and sometimes stay the night in rural carparks and laybys - some call this 'Wild Camping'. In an effort to put something back for our free stays in beautiful places, group members collect up litter in the vicinty of their 'Wild Camp' and dispose of it correctly.

If you're reading this you're probably already aware that there is a serious litter problem and something must be done! As well as solo daily pickings while walking the dogs, I'm also organising various community clean-ups, mostly a monthly one at the Welsh Harp. I have lots of equipment which I'm very happy to lend out, as well as welcoming suggestions for other areas that need a clean-up. Please contact if you wish to get involved.

We will go out once a week over the weekend to pick up litter in the local area. Nice way to meet new people and tidy up the local area!
