Epping Forest Litter Bugs

We are a group of local residents concerned about litter spoiling our environment. Our aim is to keep our area of Mid Sussex looking clean, tidy and litter free resulting in a more pleasant and safe environment for everyone and its wildlife to live in. We aim to achieve this through occasional Litter Picks We very much welcome new members. To see a report on past events: click on 'view' alongside that event.

We are a small group of Volunteers passionate about keeping our Town and Country clean. We get out and about most days collecting rubbish from our hedgerows, parks and walks. We are happy to work with other local groups and organisations including educational talks and bringing awareness to this problem we have in our Towns and Country. Must of us within the group have mental health problems and or unseen disabilities and discovered walking and hiking helps with our day to day depression and anxiety and by collecting rubbish on our walks also gives us purpose and feelings of achievement. Spurred on by the grass verges and parks around our lovely town regularly covered with litter, I decided to do litter picking walks in my free time. I have now formed this group, which is also on Facebook, to encourage others to help. I love where I live and aim to make others proud of their locality, so they think twice before chucking their rubbish. Don’t chuck it, bin it.

Participants from Pangbourne and surrounding area who contribute to an annual Spring Clean tidy up of river meadows, hedgerows and footpaths. Supported in particular by Pangbourne Parish Council and Pangbourne & Whitchurch Sustainability Group.

This estate clean up was organised by Matt Evans, Housing Officer of the area, and involved staff from the local Office, and contractors. The clean up involved clearing communal areas inside the flats, garages and the outside area. Going forward, it is hoped that a Residents Association will be formed, that will carry out litter picks and maybe start up a weekly gardening club.

Our groups main aim is to improve the local environment so that it looks cleaner and more presentable as the litter in the area is spoiling the look of where we live and work. We would like to bring together the working community of the business park in order to clean things up a bit by keeping the area litter free. We feel that this would be a great opportunity to meet some of our neighbours, get some gentle exercise and achieve something really valuable at the same time.

We are a group of like minded individuals which operate under the umbrella of the Buxton Town Team. We meet once a month on the first Sunday of the month at 11am-1pm. Check out the Buxton Town Team Facebook Page for where to meet as it changes every month, or email me stoop.farm@btinternet.com

We have about 350 members, and about 50 active .This year we have collected 3200 bags of rubbish
