Group of five villages in the Parish trying to keep their area and lanes clean and safe

I am a walker / runner living in the St Cleer, Liskeard area fed up with seeing discarded litter cluttering the country lanes and endever to do a litter pick every Saturday morning following a 5k circuit around the villages. The Tower Hamlets Beautiful Borough Project aims to help residents in Tower Hamlets to take control of their neighbourhood and to clean it up, enabling people not only to live in more pleasant surroundings but also to get to know each other better and make their community safer and friendlier

The group now has over 100 members. It organises monthly litter picks, and members also litter pick in their own local areas.

An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.

We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.

The Houndwood Community Group’s activities are aimed at making the Houndwood and Icon new housing estate of nearly 400 homes situated in Street, Somerset, a better and safer place to live. We formed about 6 years ago and reorganised in 2017 into our current form.

Clean Seas Please is based in East Sussex and it's main focus is to bring the quality of the bathing water in the area to good or excellent against the EU regulations. This is done by talking to residents and visitors, beach cleans, events and working with local schools or community groups.

The Tidy Tetbury Team aims to bring together all those who want to see Tetbury kept tidy and looking good and who are happy to help achieve this by coming out to pick up litter. At the moment, we think that the obvious areas that need tidying up from time to time are likely to be The Rec, the area by the old railway shed, Love Lane (between Tesco and The Chipping) and the path behind Hampton Stores that leads to William Romney's School. But we also think that the Tidy Tetbury Team should be there to help and join in with anyone who wants to tackle the litter problem in their part of Tetbury. Our aim is not only to keep Tetbury tidy but to have fun and make new friends as we do so.
