In the middle ages the Rossendale Valley was known as the Forest of Rossendale and this is remembered by the stag which adorns the Rossendale Coat of Arms. On Wednesday 25 April 2012 we will be (at long last) placing two deer on the fire station roundabout that will remind people of Rossendale's history as well as present a pleasing tableau as you enter Rawtenstall. There are lots of other things happening on the same night. Planting, litter picking - please come and join us. .
