Tidy Hook

Nottingham,NG2 5BA

24 Apr 2009

23:00

Let's focus on The Hook

(proposed Local Nature Reserve)

Meet outside Lady Bay Primary School at 10am for a fun social occasion clearing the rubbish from our most prized local beauty spot!  Let's use the opportunity to encourage others to get involved and to show how it's great to get active and care for our environment.

And the best bit...Jacob will be here to lead some more environmental games for the kids (including big kids).

There were fifteen volunteers; a good mix of all ages and one of our best turn-outs so far. We picked up the equivalent of 18 bin bags of rubbish (including stuff dumped in the Trent and barbed-wire at Pinders Pond). Well done everyone! It was my last event - I am now living in Exeter. Wishing all the best to Malcolm (new co-ordinator) and you all. Darren .

This estate clean up was organised by Matt Evans, Housing Officer of the area, and involved staff from the local Office, and contractors. The clean up involved clearing communal areas inside the flats, garages and the outside area. Going forward, it is hoped that a Residents Association will be formed, that will carry out litter picks and maybe start up a weekly gardening club.
