Sweep up for Santa

Whaley Bridge,SK23 7HT

17 Nov 2012

00:00

The Canal and River Trust (formerly British Waterways) will be out seeing what we're up to on our first activity, which happens to be cleaning up the basin area in preparation for Santa's arrival on the 30th November. So, to show them both what the town's all about we need as many volunteers as we can muster down there from 12noon till around 2pm on Saturday 17th November. Equipment will be provided (gloves, bags, pickers, secateurs etc) but please feel free to bring your own. Please wear sturdy footwear, steel toe caps if you have them. They'll be plenty of activities from light to heavy, from picking up cans, to holding bags, to lopping branches. If none of that tickles your fancy please come down and give moral support. Hey if you want to bring goodies down to the gang working there, tea/coffee/treats please do. If you've got a guitar or saxophone head down to the basin and entertain the troops. If you'd like more info please e-mail me.

If you're on Facebook please like our page. Look forward to seeing the town out there next week. (we'll be assembling at the boaters' toilet but you'll see the yellow jackets if you're not there at the start) .

Lady Bay Litter Pickers
Lady Bay Litterpickers no longer functions as a group. Instead, individuals are issued with equipment to litterpick an area of Lady Bay of their choice, usually the streets immediately around their home and at times convenient to them. If you would like to be involved in this new style of litterpicking, please get in touch - sian.trafford@ntu.ac.uk . Be assured, however, that our aims are still to keep Lady Bay as one of the best places to live, and to generate pride in our community.
