A Big Spring Beach Clean community clear up day is being held on Sunday 29th March starting at 11am at the Starr Gate slipway near to the Blackpool Light Craft Club at Squires Gate, Blackpool. This event will be to clean up any litter from the beach near to the Sand Dunes between Starr Gate in Blackpool and The Pier in St Annes. Anyone from the Local Community who wants to get involved is welcome to come along. .

Fylde Litter Action Group (FLAG)
Fylde Litter Action Group (FLAG) is a partnership between Fylde Council departments and various other local organisations, street reps and voluntary groups that are concerned with tackling litter within the Fylde Council area, including the St Annes Beach Care Group, Fairhaven Coastal Care Group and The Friends of the Estuary Coastal Care Group in Lytham. FLAG has been set up with the ultimate aim of preventing dropped litter in the area. Living near the recreation ground and being a dog walker I usually pick up litter whilst wandering and have taken part in litter clearance events in Chelmsford. My hope is that by setting up this group I can act as a focal point for local residents in helping to maintain the beauty of this town by taking part in occasional "pick-up" events.
