Today I was joined by Rob and Sue Hayward who volunteered to walk from Stamford Bridge up to High Catton, turn right to Low Catton and back to Stamford Bridge, collecting four very full bags of rubbish on route. I started down under the Viaduct and that's as far as I got. I've posted a couple of pictures showing the rubbish that must have accumulated over a number of years, (stopped counting tin cans after 70) and quickly realized I was in cloud cuckoo land if I thought I was going to finish collecting rubbish on the planned route! However, the weather was beautiful and I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the kingfishers who were busy defending their territory prior to nesting. .

An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.
We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.
