Long Melford Litter Pickers
If you love Long Melford and hate litter, then we are the group for you!
We meet from 10am - noon on the last Sunday of the month and from 2pm - 4pm on the preceeding Thursday.
Please contact us by email and we will send you out all the information, including the meet up location of our next pick.
This group was set up to encourage individuals to litter pick in their own streets. We now meet in groups and attend organised events to spread the word.
Formed to bring together those who are working to keep Mount Pleasant tidy. We hope to meet on a regular basis to target problem areas, whilst maintaining individual efforts to keep small areas tidy.
Join our volunteer warden scheme, organising action within Worcestershire. We offer practical help and advice to volunteer wardens, who meet on a regular basis to exchange information and ideas on how to improve their neighbourhoods. Each litter warden is provided with a litter picker, gloves and refuse sacks. We encourage wardens to recycle the waste they collect; we also offer to dispose of any waste collected.
The Shedfield Society was formed in 1993 for the public benefit:
(i) To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the village of Shedfield.
(ii) To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of the village of Shedfield.
(iii) To secure the preservation, protection and development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the village of Shedfield.
The Shedfield Society is registered with the Civic Voice and is a member of the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
Primrose Parks Alliance is a community group with a shared purpose. We would like to make our parks and green space an environment we are all proud to enjoy. The group is formed from the amalgamation of Friends of Valley View and Springwell Park and Keep Mill Dene Clean community groups.
Aims:
Keep the area clean and litter free by organising litter pick events.
Progress local maintenance issues with the correct agencies, authorities, environmental and charity groups.
Identify partners, resource support and funding opportunities and work together to engage, educate, inspire and to close any gaps where the appropriate agencies cannot fully support.
Take a long-term view of the area and eventually expand activity to include the development of infrastructure, events and public engagement in the Primrose green spaces.
Founded to counteract the ever-increasing amount of litter, dog fouling etc in our village, the group was established independently of the the Parish Council.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council provided high visibility jackets, litter sticks, gloves and bags.
We meet fortnightly on the village Green although many members (approx 18 at present) also go about as and when they feel inclined! We have not yet enlisted any younger members but this may happen.
We would like to have our own "uniform" so that we can be easily recognised and not mistaken for Community Service people!!
Our first annual 3Rs bash takes place in the Co-ordinator's garden on Saturday, August 18th. No litter will be left behind!!
