More pickers - 27 - than ever before, including a number from neighbouring parishes. We collected a staggering 76 bags of litter, together with a range of larger objects - including 17 hub caps, a car tyre, various road signs, and five cats eyes (still with Tarmac attached, where they had just been dug up). We also picked up a bag containing pornographic magazines and DVDs! Much of the litter was food packaging - McDonalds was the most popular yet again, but we also noted a marked increase in cups and lids from Costa Coffee. After sorting through everything we recycled 837 drinks cans (total of 1740 to date); 760 plastic bottles (total of 1741 to date); 158 glass bottles (total of 339 to date), and a range of metal objects. We picked along just about every road in the parish, and had sufficient volunteers to pick a length of road in an adjacent parish which acts as a main feeder to the village..
