Join the Waltham Abbey Litter Picking Posse at our inaugural pick. We'll be getting into the verges along Honey Lane by Junction 26 which are loaded with litter. We'll assemble at the Skillet Hill Farm bus stop (66 route) at 11.00. Equipment will be provided for up to ten volunteers or you can bring your own if you have it. Let's get picky! Please note that this is a busy stretch of road so we ask all volunteers to make sure that they stick to picking the verge and ditch. These groups are near to you in case you want to contact them for advice, to offer them support or, for example, to share equipment with them.
An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.
We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.
