First August Event

A community group that organises the Great Warford village Fun Day, monitors local issues of general interest , improves the appearance of the village and picks litter. Working together to create a greener, cleaner more beautiful village and community.

I am an individual who walks part of the Coventry canal to and from work everyday. I have only been walking along the canal since October 2017 despite being a Coventrian my entire life! It is the city's best kept secret and so peaceful and calm away from crowds and cars. But it makes me angry and sad to see such a beautiful habitat ruined with litter so I started picking litter! I usually pick on my way to/from work in the week but I plan to do more at the weekends and travel further to notoriously messy parts of the canal. I have been litter picking my local area and would love to encourage and help other people to take simular direct action to this blight.

We are a small group of Volunteers passionate about keeping our Town and Country clean. We get out and about most days collecting rubbish from our hedgerows, parks and walks. We are happy to work with other local groups and organisations including educational talks and bringing awareness to this problem we have in our Towns and Country. Must of us within the group have mental health problems and or unseen disabilities and discovered walking and hiking helps with our day to day depression and anxiety and by collecting rubbish on our walks also gives us purpose and feelings of achievement. Friends of Eastfield Park (FoEP) exists to improve Eastfield Park, Northampton, UK, for the benefit of all its users. We do this through research, planning, consultation and promotion of the Park as well as organising conservation activities (including litter picking) and social events in the Park.

Community-led Environmental Action for Regeneration is a voluntary group established in 2007. As residents of a neglected urban regeneration area, we aim to improve the local environment and to help build pride in our local community. CLEAR works to improve the appearance and character of the Buckhaven & Denbeath area through a range of actions which include: • Litter clearing + recycling: improving greenspaces around town, organising both special and ongoing cleanups + recycling collected waste. • Planting: making public open space more attractive by planting flower bulbs, shrubs and trees in parks, shoreline, roadside verges, coastal path and other locations. Smallscale landscaping - installing railings, painting, wall murals, and similar especially focused on neglected or rundown spots • Advocacy, lobbying: Influence policies and practices of key actors such as political representatives, Fife Council, other agencies to combat misuse of public space, encourage investment and improvements in services, tackling eyesores. • Others: CLEAR works with others especially Kinetic/YMCA youth project, Community Wardens, other Fife Council departments. We also started some local public talks to help build community awareness

This group is for anybody interested in Litter Picking in the Kingfisher Country Park and surrounding areas of East Birmingham.

This estate clean up was organised by Matt Evans, Housing Officer of the area, and involved staff from the local Office, and contractors. The clean up involved clearing communal areas inside the flats, garages and the outside area. Going forward, it is hoped that a Residents Association will be formed, that will carry out litter picks and maybe start up a weekly gardening club.
