23:00

Hello everyone, this will be a pick along the cycle/walkway from Crescent Road up to South Street. If we could meet at the beggining of the path on Crescent Road on Sunday 21 October at 1000 hrs we can then work our way up to South Street. Any questions please email me, richardgowen2002@yahoo.co.uk Hello everyone It was quite a successful pick even though it was only Lorraine and myself who managed 6 bags, a childs scooter, carpet and some old shelving. Amazing what you find in the undergrowth. We did not complete the last section of the path/cycle way but we did clear along Little Anglesey Lake making it a satisfying job in the end. Regards, Richard .

I am retired and collect litter as an individual. I started litter picking when I was living in Small Heath and collected more than 1,750 bags over a three year period. I have now moved to Coseley, which is far less blighted by litter, but it is still about. I collect litter two or three times a week around Upper Ettingshall Road, Ivy House Lane, Shaw Road and roads and alleys leading from that area.

Brighter Uckfield Campaign (BUC Up)
The Group operates under the aegis of the Town Council. Every Sunday morning, at 9.00, a small band of volunteers (open to anyone to attend) meets at the Civic Centre to conduct a 'swift-pick' in the worst-affected areas (finishing at about 11.00). The Campaign has moved onto taking small patches of public land in the town and overseeing planting out and maintenance. The town's annual beautiful gardens competition is organised by the Group. The Group joins the annual clear-up of the River Uck that flows through the town. Weeding pavements and cutting back undergrowth are also tasks that are taken on. Most of this work is concentrated on the town centre, but a network of 'litter pickers' is being gradually established on the estates around the town. Volunteers are provided with a hi-vi vest, a litter picking stick, gloves and refuse sacks - and we even have wheeled trolleys to take round with you to deal with the large amounts of litter on a Sunday morning. The Campaign has its own (Don't be a) "Mucky Duck" logo.
