Weston Litter Group was set up in 2010. We meet on the 1st Saturday of every month at the Moravian Church car-park (just off the High Street roundabout). We cover all areas of Weston, such as the High Street, The Rec, Southlands, Eastville Avenue, Broadmoor Lane, Cotswold Way etc. We have all our own equipment....McDonalds have kindly donated 10 litter grabbers, Chaplins Newsagents abled us to purchase 20 pairs of gloves and Bath & NE Somerset Council supply us with bags and a collection service. The Love North Chingford Group is a Community Group formed to help improve and enhance the environment in North Chingford, particularly Station Road and the Conservation area. Three litter picks were arranged in 2018 and more will be undertaken in 2019.

I litter pick on my daily walk because I am aghast at the amount of litter thrown from cars onto the verge.

We are a local community group looking to increase the social and environmental value of the Ludwell Valley Park in Exeter, Devon for people and for wildlife

To walk and enjoy the beauty of the countryside, while making it even more beautiful as we clean up after others. In the age of microplastics no piece of [plastic] litter is too small.

The Group operates under the aegis of the Town Council. Every Sunday morning, at 9.00, a small band of volunteers (open to anyone to attend) meets at the Civic Centre to conduct a 'swift-pick' in the worst-affected areas (finishing at about 11.00). The Campaign has moved onto taking small patches of public land in the town and overseeing planting out and maintenance. The town's annual beautiful gardens competition is organised by the Group. The Group joins the annual clear-up of the River Uck that flows through the town. Weeding pavements and cutting back undergrowth are also tasks that are taken on. Most of this work is concentrated on the town centre, but a network of 'litter pickers' is being gradually established on the estates around the town. Volunteers are provided with a hi-vi vest, a litter picking stick, gloves and refuse sacks - and we even have wheeled trolleys to take round with you to deal with the large amounts of litter on a Sunday morning. The Campaign has its own (Don't be a) "Mucky Duck" logo.

We are dog walkers and pick up on our walks in and around Crowborough, the Asdown Forest and wherever we caravan.

The Clean-up Team is part of West Rainton Green Group, which was formed in April 2003. We aim to remove litter from paths, bridleways, road verges and other open space in the vicinity of West Rainton, thereby improving the attractiveness of the local area. The work is undertaken by members of the Green Group in their spare time. We organise about five or six events each year, and members of our team also collect litter on an individual basis from time to time when the need arises. Since the start of the project we have collected 100 - 150 bags a year, and attempt to recycle as much as possible, particularly cans and bottles. Prior to each event contact is made with Durham County Council, who provide a truck to remove all the bags that are collected. We have contributed to national and regional environmental programmes such as Community Service Volunteers 'Action Earth' campaign, City of Sunderland's 'Just Bin It' campaign, Litterfree Durham's 'Big Spring Clean' and the ENCAMS 'Big Tidy Up'. Since 2009 we have worked in partnership with Network Rail to clean up a nearby length of disused railway. As well as litter-picking we also alert Durham County Council and City of Sunderland Council to fly-tipping in the vicinity of the village as soon as it happens. Prompt removal has significantly improved the visual appeal of local lanes and paths. About 300 incidents have been reported since 2003.
