Clean For The Queen

FLAG will be holding events in Fylde as part of the Clean For The Queen campaign, which is being run by Keep Britain Tidy to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. We are currently in the planning stage and will announce more details as we have them, but want to work with the community during the event, which will run from Friday 4th March through to Sunday 6th March 2016. To sign up for the event please visit https://www.fylde.gov.uk/forms/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=894 Community groups, schools, businesses and residents can nominate an area they feel is a litter hot spot and with the support of FLAG and Fylde Council can organise a litter picking event. The litter picking events can take place on the beach, in local parks, open spaces and highways, including back streets. During the event a competition will be running for any local volunteer litter picking groups to win prizes. .

Bradshaw Hall Clean UP Friends
This group intends to make the areas around Bradshaw Hall Primary School an example how our public open space, roads, play grounds etc. should look like in terms of cleanliness. Currently, the area is in a relatively good condition when compared with some other areas across Greater Manchester which have been terribly affected by littering, dog fouling and fly tipping. I am retired and collect litter as an individual. I started litter picking when I was living in Small Heath and collected more than 1,750 bags over a three year period. I have now moved to Coseley, which is far less blighted by litter, but it is still about. I collect litter two or three times a week around Upper Ettingshall Road, Ivy House Lane, Shaw Road and roads and alleys leading from that area.

Primrose Parks Alliance is a community group with a shared purpose. We would like to make our parks and green space an environment we are all proud to enjoy. The group is formed from the amalgamation of Friends of Valley View and Springwell Park and Keep Mill Dene Clean community groups. Aims: Keep the area clean and litter free by organising litter pick events. Progress local maintenance issues with the correct agencies, authorities, environmental and charity groups. Identify partners, resource support and funding opportunities and work together to engage, educate, inspire and to close any gaps where the appropriate agencies cannot fully support.
