Collect litter in side streets off main carnival route and on the Recreation ground. Also empty any overflowing bins. Volunteers and Town Councillors collected 20 bags of assorted litter, one bag of glass bottles and one bag of aluminium cans. The bins on the Recreation ground were emptied as were those in the centre of town. Sadly a number of food vendors had failed to take their food waste away. Streetscene did a marvellous job in cleaning the carnival route and removing 47 sacks of waste which included the trade waste left by the food vendors. The 20 bags of litter were left at the wardens' compound for later collection. .

An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.
We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.
