Good afternoon I hope you are all having a wonderful day and enjoying the sun. Our next litter pick of the burn will be on Saturday 14th June at 10am. We will meet in Bursdshaugh Rd, at the footbridge. We will clean the burn and the banks around the footbridge. This is normally a big job, so it would be great if as many of you could make it. We will aim to finish by 12 and then go the Mosset tavern for a free tea/coffee put on by Gordon. Previous messageNext messageBack to messages Litter Pick:Thanks for your help‏ Actions Adrian Hutchins 14:48 To: Adrian Hutchins adrian9696@hotmail.com Dear Friends Many thanks to all those that were able to help out this morning at the litter pick. There were 12 of us and we cleared 12 bags of garbage. The river was much cleaner than normal thanks to the recent rains that washed most of it down stream.

We are still clearing a lot of cans and bottles from the river, it seems that people are sitting on the bank and throwing their empties straight in. Thanks to Dave for our most unusual find, a bust of a rather ugly man. We managed to clear from Sanghuar weir to Orchard Bridge, a fantastic effort Karen found some corrosive acid containers that could have come from some garage, so we will need to follow up. Over the years we have picked quite a few car parts that appear to have been fly tipped by the public. Thanks to Brian for taking home the glass and metal to be recycled. We are still not sure whether the council are recycling the material that we collect or just dumping the entire contents into the landfill. If anyone has the information, please let us know. Thanks to Steve and Co for clearing the area by Sanqhuar weir. Our new net bags seem to be successful, so I will have a few more made. Thanks to everyone that have trialed them over the past few picks. We have recently been granted some money by Forres Area Forum, so will be able to buy some equipment. I plan to buy some more waders, if you would like a pair and can commit to 6 of the 10 picks a year, a pair will be purchased for you. Please let me know your shoe size. I hope you all have a great weekend. Best Wishes Adrian.

Triton Road cycle picker
I joined my friend Ryan's group Clean Lincoln Everywhere And Now and we picked the virge and copse along am 800m stretch of Triton Rd in Lincoln. Afterwards I decided to attempt to manage it by litter picking, by bike, on my daily commute to and from work. I also join in with the Sincil Bank River Care team, when I can. I enjoy working in and on the water.
