I am retired and collect litter as an individual. I started litter picking when I was living in Small Heath and collected more than 1,750 bags over a three year period. I have now moved to Coseley, which is far less blighted by litter, but it is still about. I collect litter two or three times a week around Upper Ettingshall Road, Ivy House Lane, Shaw Road and roads and alleys leading from that area.

We are a small group of Volunteers passionate about keeping our Town and Country clean. We get out and about most days collecting rubbish from our hedgerows, parks and walks. We are happy to work with other local groups and organisations including educational talks and bringing awareness to this problem we have in our Towns and Country. Must of us within the group have mental health problems and or unseen disabilities and discovered walking and hiking helps with our day to day depression and anxiety and by collecting rubbish on our walks also gives us purpose and feelings of achievement. Weston Litter Group was set up in 2010. We meet on the 1st Saturday of every month at the Moravian Church car-park (just off the High Street roundabout). We cover all areas of Weston, such as the High Street, The Rec, Southlands, Eastville Avenue, Broadmoor Lane, Cotswold Way etc. We have all our own equipment....McDonalds have kindly donated 10 litter grabbers, Chaplins Newsagents abled us to purchase 20 pairs of gloves and Bath & NE Somerset Council supply us with bags and a collection service. Set up to eradicate litter and fly tipping in Waltham Forest by operating as a pressure group to influence our council to 'up its game' in tackling the blight of litter in our borough.

Participants from Pangbourne and surrounding area who contribute to an annual Spring Clean tidy up of river meadows, hedgerows and footpaths. Supported in particular by Pangbourne Parish Council and Pangbourne & Whitchurch Sustainability Group.

Our focus will be the park located on Watt street as well as the surrounding pavements and streets. Eventually when there are enough members we can expand further and target other localised areas within Handsworth.

At the moment I do some Ad-hoc litter clearance in Thornby and lend support to other intitatives such as CPRE Northants litter picks. I also support the Stop the Drop campaign and any action they take.

We are a voluntary litter picking group in Witham, Essex, who are passionate about keeping our local area tidy and free of litter. We meet up once a month at various locations across the town and are always looking for new volunteers! We love getting the community together and have previously had amazing assistance from the Witham & District Lionesses as well as local schools and Brownies and Beavers groups. We have also been interviewed by BBC Essex and received a Community & Safety Award from Witham Neighbourhood Watch! This group intends to make the areas around Bradshaw Hall Primary School an example how our public open space, roads, play grounds etc. should look like in terms of cleanliness. Currently, the area is in a relatively good condition when compared with some other areas across Greater Manchester which have been terribly affected by littering, dog fouling and fly tipping. However, there are still a lot of work to be done and a lot of mind-sets to change that it's each individual's responsibility to clean up their own mess.
