If you're reading this you're probably already aware that there is a serious litter problem and something must be done! As well as solo daily pickings while walking the dogs, I'm also organising various community clean-ups, mostly a monthly one at the Welsh Harp. I have lots of equipment which I'm very happy to lend out, as well as welcoming suggestions for other areas that need a clean-up. Please contact if you wish to get involved.

The aim of the group is to tackle litter blackspots mainly around local woods, paths, parks and public spaces that are not regularly maintained by the council

We have 3 main aims ​ Improve the environment of Oadby, Wigston and South Wigston To work with Oadby and Wigston Borough Council to support the Borough's entry into East Midlands in Bloom Encourage and support community activities that will increase pride in our Borough

I am an individual who walks part of the Coventry canal to and from work everyday. I have only been walking along the canal since October 2017 despite being a Coventrian my entire life! It is the city's best kept secret and so peaceful and calm away from crowds and cars. But it makes me angry and sad to see such a beautiful habitat ruined with litter so I started picking litter! I usually pick on my way to/from work in the week but I plan to do more at the weekends and travel further to notoriously messy parts of the canal. The Brereton Clean Team is organised by the Brereton Parish Community Interest Group. We are affiliated to the Sandbach Clean Team. We litter pick around the Parish every 2 months. This is always on Saturday mornings, 10am-12pm.

This group is looking for new people it has been named after my Dog Poppy. To be a member al you have to do is pick up at least one piece of street litter a week. I collect litter near to my house and surrounding area and small conservation area. I have picked up over 900 carrier bags worth of litter in 3 years. I have been on TV and in local press and want a national campaign by the government on tv and in the press. We need to educate all about the pointless littering we see daily. I love to get a celebrity to help promote KEEP BRITAIN TIDY if you know anyone please please help me get in touch About me In 2004 I fractured my spine in three places and suffer daily with server back pain. I was ill health retired and told to take life easy but damned if I will. These people that drop litter make me so angry and I will protect the wildlife that live near me and keep their area FREE of litter and broken glass.

Fishponds Clean Streets was established in 2016 and is run by a few volunteers with the aim of helping keep the streets cleaner of litter. There was an extended period owing to COVID restrictions when we were not able to operate, however we are back up and running again now. We usually meet for an hour and a half on a Saturday morning once a month and always publicise our litter picks here on this page, where we also report on our activity after each litter pick. Thanks to those who joined in on Sat 5th Feb and to Rachel for coming along with her family. Between us we collected 7 sacks of rubbish and 6 of recyclables. We hope to meet again in March, so do keep an eye on this page for updates! Our first litter pick took place in November 2016. People stopped their cars & asked how to get involved, more have joined since. We live in a beautiful area & want to get rid of the litter which spoils the countryside. 6 Local businesses & 2 village residents have sponsored us & we now all have our own equipment (not borrowed from the District Council) Our hi-vis vests have a litter picking logo on the back & the Sponsor's name on the front. Our Parish Council support us by insuring us and a local garage has offered assistance.

myself and a couple of like minded individuals have been litter picking our local parks, back lanes and mountains for as long as we can remember. the amount of rubbish we are finding is getting worse and worse so we are aiming to do as much as we possibly can so that we can get our parks, lanes and country sides back to how they should be... litter free! our aim is to show people that it's super fun, cool and easy to make that little bit of difference to the environment, hopeing that they will join in on our quest to keep the earth clean.
