From 6am on Sunday 6 October volunteers and Town Councillors carried out a litter pick in Frog Lane, Shudrick Lane, Ditton Street, Wharf Lane, Orchard Vale, Canal Way and on the Recreation Ground. 25 bags ( 2 of bottles and one of cans) of rubbish was left at the Wardens' shed to be collected by South Somerset District Council. The main carnival route was cleaned by the SSDC Streetscene sweeper vehicle assisted by a handheld blower. .

The Friends of Nunroyd Park
From our official starting date of 17/6/17 we have grown to a point where we are now a fully constitued group, and have a busy and active committee of 11 people including myself as chair, our secretary, our treasurer and 8 other members including one of our local city councillors. LitterFree Durham CPRE
We co-ordinate activities for the CPRE litter campaign Stop the Drop in County Durham and Darlington. These include acting as a central focus to which reports of litter grot spots may be made; making regular personal contact with Local Authorities, Parish Councils and tourism organisations; organising litter picks throughout the county; spreading publicity for the Campaign; and taking a programme of litter-awareness education into local schools.
