23:00

Following the cuts in services delivered by South Somerset County Council agreement was reached with Streetscene that they would clean the main streets on Sunday morning and that they would provide extra litter pick tools and bags for volunteers to clean the side streets and the Recreation Ground. Members of the Forum, Town Councillors and residents met on the Recreation Ground at 9am on Sunday 7 October. Pairs were despatched around the town and on the recreation ground and in just under 2 hours had collected 11 bags of rubbish, 5 of which were taken away by Streetscene personnel with the other 6 stored for collection from the wardens caged area on Monday 9 October. All the litter collected was sorted so that 2 bags of glass bottles, 2 bags of drink cans and 2 bags of plastic bottles were taken to the Recycling Centre. .

Friends of the Beck (Driffield)
Aim to create a wildlife corridor along the banks of the beck which runs through the heart of the brilliant town of driffield. We also plan to expand our area to cover the whole town and hopefully encouraging wildlife. Our goal is to make the town more appealing to residents, visitors and wildlife whilst acting as a catalyst for regeneration and investment.

Tetford Volunteer Group
Our first litter pick took place in November 2016. People stopped their cars & asked how to get involved, more have joined since. We live in a beautiful area & want to get rid of the litter which spoils the countryside. 6 Local businesses & 2 village residents have sponsored us & we now all have our own equipment (not borrowed from the District Council) Our hi-vis vests have a litter picking logo on the back & the Sponsor's name on the front. Our Parish Council support us by insuring us and a local garage has offered assistance.
