Debenham Litterpickers Spring Clean Up-Clean for the Queen Despite very cold, very wet weather, on Saturday 5th March 35 people turned out to remove litter and fly tipping from ditches, footpaths, woodlands and hedgerows. Over 130kg of litter (30 bags) were collected by Mid Suffolk the following Monday. The amazing team were based at Dove Cottage, enjoyed lunch, met up with old friends and made new ones! It was wonderful to have Debenham Beaver Scouts join us. Debenham Parish Council, Babergh and Mid Suffolk Council and Debenhamlitterpickers worked together on this event. If you are aware of fly tipping or frequent littering, please contact Martin Loveridge Parish Councillor loveridgemartin@yahoo.co.uk or Joy Walton Debenhamlitterpickers joyw@btinternet.com.

If you would like to adopt an area please get in touch –equipment and advice on avoiding risk will be provided. Further strategies are intended to reduce –even stop?!-littering and fly tipping in and around our village. Sandbach Clean Team
The group now has over 100 members. It organises monthly litter picks, and members also litter pick in their own local areas.

An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.

We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.

We have a website:- www.sandbach-cleanteam.co.uk
