This worthwhile organised beach clean will start from BOURNEMOUTH PIER 10AM UNTIL MIDDAY..It would be great for as many Dorset Devils to be available on SUNDAY, 26th APRIL. Last year 700 volunteers took part and collected 851 bags of plastics etc. Litter Free Coast and Sea are involved in this event in conjunction with Jenny Penney, Senior Coastal Ranger at Dorset County Council. Please invite your friends to come along, especially if they have never done this before and love the beach. Just need good shoes and gloves and will power. To help keep your bag open, bring a bamboo stick or tubing 30cms long. Really helps. Watch the forcaste. 30 residents turned up and for 2 hours scanned the beach for litter. Council had done such a good job not loads of litter, especially near the pier apart from lots of tiny fragments of plastics. Thanks to Seafront Rangers for their equipment and guidance as well as the treats.
One couple decided to go online in the afternoon and signed up-brilliant now 20 in DD. .
