Broadmoor Road Verges Litter Pick

A voluntary group helping to keep Poldhu Beach as nature intended. We organise regular beach cleaning sessions, work with the National Trust to mantain and improve the environs whilst ensuring conservation is our watch word.

Starting from a group of two, and hoping to grow, the mantra is 'if it's being dropped, then it needs picking up' ...we are going to fulfil this task, and hope this encourages less dropping, and more picking! If you see rubbish, don't tell us, pick it up yourself!

Whitehead Wombles are a small group of people from the town of Whitehead who got fed up looking at the amount of litter on our streets and hedgerows and decided to do something about it. We only have a few members but we are committed to keeping the level of litter in the town to a minimum and hope that people will see us and think twice about dropping their litter. We are supplied with bags, gloves and pickers by our local council and last Oct we won an award for our coastal care work. Our aim is to educate people in the detrimental effects of littering and to work with as many groups within the town to co ordinate our efforts. We had a community clean up on Sunday 18th Sept 2011as part of the national Beach watch Weekend and received support of local groups and churches so for one day at least we had a litter free town. We lifted over 30 bags and had forty people of all ages turn out to help. This proved so successful that many of those involved wanted to run it on a quarterly basis so we'll see what we can do If anyone wants to set up a group and needs advice then contact us or follow our progress at the Brighter Whitehead site.

We carry out and organise monthly beach clean-ups on Crosby and Waterloo beaches. We also try to raise awareness of plastic pollution and what it does to wildlife and our environment.

Sending an invitation to those in our local area who share my wish to enjoy our local environment without the litter-fringed roads and verges that so many seem to have accepted as the norm.

I am a walker / runner living in the St Cleer, Liskeard area fed up with seeing discarded litter cluttering the country lanes and endever to do a litter pick every Saturday morning following a 5k circuit around the villages. Pick up litter. And check on elderly in community all must have a electronic CRB. Chat to people on our way. And be the eyes of the community of chaucer. Help residents get out and do exercise and advice on wellbeing lifestyles. Tackle there issues they are facing and try to make a difference in the community build a effective cohesiveness in all of the community\'s. And much more. Guide youths to be productive and to find there visions and guide them into it.

We meet to pick up litter in Morrab Gardens on the 1st Sunday of every month.

We have an annual clean up in the village and mainly on the by-pass which seems to attract vast swathes of rubbish from passing motorists. This event occurs some time in April each year, notice via the Parish Meeting or notice board. We have litter grabbers, safety jackets and black bags!

As Westminster’s Children’s University we are continually seeking new partners and sponsors to assist in providing quality extracurricular opportunities for the often underprivileged youth of Westminster. We believe in the limitless potential in every child and Seek to open avenues in all fields of experience in order to engage and inspire our cohort. We are a two form entry Primary (state) school currently developing as a centre of excellence in well being and youth mental health. As such we are a completely non profit organisation and rely on the sharing of and engagement in our vision to motivate likeminded professionals to assist and join in our mission to improve the experiences and aspirations of our vulnerable youths. We too provide free consultancy, CPD and CBT/mentoring services in return, in order to create mutually rewarding partnership and more importantly, to spread good practice wherever desired. We are currently using our Eco club and wardens projects to engage our students with their own thoughts,feelings and in being mindful through gardening,planting and creating green spaces our Volunteer Litter picks help children consider their place within our wider community and human's relationship and interdependence with the world and the environment.
