This cross Derbyshire group has been assembled on Nextdoor to enable like minded people to join together in collecting litter, raising awareness in the community plus ......

We co-ordinate activities for the CPRE litter campaign Stop the Drop in County Durham and Darlington. These include acting as a central focus to which reports of litter grot spots may be made; making regular personal contact with Local Authorities, Parish Councils and tourism organisations; organising litter picks throughout the county; spreading publicity for the Campaign; and taking a programme of litter-awareness education into local schools. I come home to Newcastle now and again. I would encourage others who are here more permanently to create a group. Unfortunately as there isn't a group yet for Newcastle.

I am an individual who walks part of the Coventry canal to and from work everyday. I have only been walking along the canal since October 2017 despite being a Coventrian my entire life! It is the city's best kept secret and so peaceful and calm away from crowds and cars. But it makes me angry and sad to see such a beautiful habitat ruined with litter so I started picking litter! I usually pick on my way to/from work in the week but I plan to do more at the weekends and travel further to notoriously messy parts of the canal. Huntsham is a tiny village in mid Devon. For the last four years, Huntsham Society members and our local community (farmers and all) have joined forces twice a year to clean up all the many the lanes for a distance of 2-3 miles from the village; once in April before the verges are hidden in new growth, and once in October when the vegetation has died down and the litter can be seen. This April we had a turnout of over 100 helpers, including many children. We have recently combined our efforts with Mid Devon County Councils campaign to help keep Devon clean and green, also twice a year. It would be fantastic if neighbouring parishes could take up the challenge of keeping the lanes clear of litter.

I started picking litter in the Fleet area in December 2017 So far I have collected 110 bags. Sole trader at present but would appreciate company.

A growing band of volunteers dedicated to keeping Uckfield and surrounding areas clean, green and litter free. We meet every Sunday at 9am in Waitrose car park, and others perform ad hoc litter picking around our town.
