In partnership with Groundwork Merseyside, Cronton Pathways will be doing a final clearing of old fly-tipped rubbish from the ditches along Sandy Lane. Volunteers most welcome. Refreshments and equipment provided. Meet from 10.a.m. at Sandy Lane, Cronton, Wednesday 22nd June 2011 This was yet another successful venture when we cleared 60+ bags of long-forgotten litter from the ditches in Sandy Lane with the help of Eamon Ritchie and his Groundwork team, headed by Steve and Michelle. We now have a good stock of litter-picking equipment, including bag holders (what a great idea they are!), gloves, poop-scoop, hi-vis jackets and litter-pickers, thanks to Groundwork. With regular litter picking we are keeping on top of the litter in this area, but will be much happier when we can get bins installed at either end of the lane..
